March 26-27, 2026: Participation in the International Online Conference (Lviv, Ukraine)

On 26-27 March 2026, PhD student Ghazwa Basma, UJEP participated in the 11th International Youth Congress “Sustainable Development: Environmental Protection. Energy Saving. Sustainable Environmental Management”, organized remotely by the Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine.

Ghazwa Basma did an oral report “Biomass ash utilization in brownfield soils: nematode and agrochemical responses under Miscanthus × giganteus establishment”, co-authored by Abdulmannan Rouhani, Tatyana Stefanovska, Andrzej Skwiercz, Sergiy Ustak, and Valentina Pidlisnyuk.

The online congress was particularly relevant to the research ongoing at UJEP   since it reflected on the importance of integrating biological indicators, especially nematode responses, with agrochemical soil parameters in the evaluation the soil health at the brownfield soils under the Miscanthus × giganteus vegetation. The participation in the event contributed to the development of the scientific communication skills of the PhD students involved in the project G6094 and strengthened their confidence in introduction of their research to the academic audience.
