June 10-11, 2025: Presenting results of G6094 at Biochar Summit 2025

Professor Valentina Pidlisnyuk NPD and PhD student Katrien Booney (both UJEP) participated at the Biochar Summit 2025 held on June 10-11, 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. The event represented Europe’s platform dedicated to the latest innovation and insights in the field of biochar production, properties and using and is a platform for mutual cross-sectoral collaboration on integrating biochar into a climate -oriented economy and aimed to foster meaningful dialogue. It inspires ideas and collaborative work to address critical challenges and opportunities facing the biochar sector. The event was a great success with some 220 participants across the globe.

PhD student Katrien Booney did a presentation “Life cycle assessment of Biochar-assisted Miscanthus × giganteus phytotechnology applied to post-military lands” and prof. Pidlisnyuk presented results in a report “Miscanthus × giganteus biomass production supported by soil amendments at the post-mining land in Chomutov, Czechia” co-authored by Pidlisnyuk V., Newton R., Mamirova A., and Usták S.

While at the conference prof. Pidlisnyuk had meetings/minutes with Kent Davidson and Eva Sta’l, NSR AB, Sweden; prof.
