Participation of Co-Director Dr. Vitalii Stadnik (LPNU, Ukraine) in the International Conference RemTech Europe – 2026

On September 18, 2026 Associate Professor Dr. Vitalii Stadnik, Co-Director of the G6094 from LPNU, Ukraine, participated remotely in the international conference RemTech Europe 2026, Ferrara, Italy. This annual event brings together experts, researchers, and technology providers working in environmental remediation and sustainable restoration (https://remtechexpo.com/remtech-europe/).

Dr. Stadnik presented the G6094 research results at the Session 41 – “Bioremediation Technologies: From Microorganisms to Phytotechnology.” His presentation “Biochar-enhanced Miscanthus phytotechnology for the restoration of military-conflict-affected soils,” was delivered on behalf of Valentyna Pidlisnyuk, Vitalii Stadnik, Tatyana Stefanovska, Andrzej Skwiercz, Andriy Herts, Oleksandr Kononchuk, Martyn Sozansky, and Pavlo Shapoval. The presentation highlighted G6094 results on the application of Miscanthus × giganteus combined with biochar and other organic amendments for the restoration of degraded and military-conflict-affected soils. Particular attention was given to field experiments and the potential of phytotechnology to support ecological restoration and the future productive use of affected lands.

Following the presentation, Dr. Stadnik and Prof. Pidlisnyuk answered questions from the audience concerning the production of biochar used in the field experiments and its role in phytoremediation process. Participation in RemTech Europe 2026 provided an opportunity to disseminate G6094 research findings internationally, exchange knowledge on sustainable remediation, and strengthen scientific cooperation with researchers working in environmental restoration and bioremediation.
