September 24-26, 2025: Visit of Dr. Mamirova, linkage institution, KazNU, to UJEP
From September 22–26, 2025, Dr. Aigerim Mamirova from KazNU, Kazakhstan, Director of the Linkage Team at KazNU, visited UJEP within the framework of the NATO project G6094. On September 25, she participated in a round-table discussion with NPD Prof. Valentina Pidlisnyuk, researchers Dr. Karim Al Souki and Dr. Josef Trogl, and PhD students Abdulmannan Rouhani and Ghazwa Basma, who are involved in UJEP’s research under NATO project G6094. The obtained results were reviewed, and new research directions were discussed, focusing on biochar as a microbial carrier, rhizosphere interactions, and carbon sequestration.
During her stay at UJEP, Dr. Mamirova also met with Dr. Jiri Orava, Head of the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Technology. Additionally, she made a field trip to Chomutov, where she visited a Miscanthus plantation established in 2025 using ash. She collected samples for further research at KazNU. Dr. Mamirova also met with Dr. Sergey Ust’ak, Director of the Agri-Food Research Center in Chomutov, an institution that supports UJEP’s field research.
