September 5, 2025: Project progress meeting 9

On September 5, 2025 the Project Progress meeting #9 within the Milestone 4 of G6094 was organized in a mixed form. Team from the leading institution UJEP was presented in persons, members of other teams (TVHNPU, NULP, NULES, RMC, HC, and KazNU) were presented on-line. Altogether 19 participants attended the meeting (7 individuals were in person at UJEP and 12 participants were connected online).

Prof. Pidlisnyuk, NPD overviewed the current state with project’s layout and pointed the state with deliverables implementation. Deliverables D1.2 Evaluation of the properties of ash as an amendment for the soil – accomplished, two manuscripts submitted, recommendations; Deliverable 2.4 Interconnection between biochar-rhizosphere interaction and Miscanthus phytoremediation – under the implementation; Deliverables D4.3&4.4 Carbon sequestration during multiyear growth of M×g at the different fields – data are under evaluation for the M×g plantation in Chomutov; Deliverable D5.3 Estimation of GHG mitigation potential of Advanced Phytotechnology. Modelling of the process – accomplished, manuscript submitted; data presented at the Biochar Summit 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. D4.2. Interconnection between biochar-rhizosphere interaction and Miscanthus phytoremediation- accomplished, manuscript published. Same time two deliverables postponed from Mil3 are still delayed in implementation, i.e.: D4.1 Impact of rhizosphere microorganisms on the efficiency of M×g phytotechnology and biomass production – delay with the manuscript; D5.2. Indication the wiliness of Ukrainians to implement the Phytotechnology based on Q-methodology – delay in evaluation of the survey’s results done in Ukraine in summer 2025. Prof. Pidlisnyuk stressed that the deadline for the implementation of both delated deliverables is December 2025.                 

Thereafter each of Co-Directors did a short introduction about the implementation of the project’s activities since May 27, 2025 when Mil4 started. The state of the budget layout as for September 3, 2025 was introduced by Mgr. Blanka Cerna, UJEP.

In the second part of the event PPD Andryi Hertz introduced the Agenda of the Training 2 “Exchanging knowledge gained during the project across the young researchers” scheduled for October 9, 2025, 13.00-17.00 CEST at TVGNPU. He illustrated the registration form to be filled in by each of the participants and encouraged Co-Directors to work intensively with the young researchers in order to fulfill the event’s requests. Co-Director Tatyana Stefanovska, NULES introduced the agenda for the in-person HUB meeting which is scheduled on October 10, 2025 in TVGNPU, 9.30-14.30 CEST. The participation of the governmental officials from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ternopil Military administrations and representatives of the city councils from Dolyna, Ivano- Frankivsk region and Kremenchug, Poltava region is planned.

The next Project Progress Meeting 10 is scheduled for December 12, 2025. It will sum up the results of the Mil4 before the preparation of the Project Progress report #4 and Project Financial Report #4.
