The First price at the 7th Research Day at the Lebanese International University

Lutfi Sharanek, a former ERASMUS student at UJEP in 2024-2025 fall semester, who was involved in research at the Chomutov M×g plantation, Czech Republic was granted the First Place at the 7th SAS Research Day at Lebanese International University, Lebanon. The presentation “Restoring Soils, Advancing Science: My Erasmus Exploration of Miscanthus Driven Phytoremediation” was focused on phytoremediation, which is relatively unknown in Lebanon, and aligned closely with the goals of NATO G6094 on multi-year testing the impact of amendments on soil health and carbon cycle. The presented work stood out for its scientific relevance, environmental value, and strong practical implications. The award was granted during the closing ceremony, recognizing Lutfi Sharanek’s dedication to science, sustainability, and international collaboration.
